What happens when you leave the room to deal with early morning #tiff18 crisis.
Oh hi there.

Found in mother’s basement... a recording of my @ckdu881fm radio show from 1992. I need a tape player STAT. And a private room.
In the business of being the cutest.
Dream Dad. Happy Fathers’ Day @jarchambault
Kinda long story... about two months ago now Stevie got hit by a car right in front of our house. Right in front of us. Joel chased after the car on foot as I tried to lure a very banged up, bleeding from the mouth, cat from under our front porch. Hit and run with an animal is not a crime so the driver went on his merry way. Meanwhile after pulling up our deck to get Stevie out Joel rushed him to the hospital as I stayed home with our oblivious baby. Many days and dollars later we were still being told they couldn’t deal with his leg until his lungs heeled. The hospital was $700/night. Faced with an anticipated $10,000 bill we had to make a choice and it wasn’t a good one. But then we heard of another option. The Humane Society would absorb the remaining cost of his treatment BUT we would have to surrender our cat over to them, never to hear another thing about him again. No updates or visit. He would get fixed up and go to another owner. This was very hard but we chose to do it. During our final teary phone call we explained how we love our cat but have a baby who just started daycare, plus both us had taken leave over the last year and we simply didn’t have the money. They took note, put it in our file. About a month ago we got a call. Stevie needed 12 weeks of rehab but after he stabilized from three surgeries he could come back home. Today was that day. He has to stay in the cage for at least another month but he is home. ❤️🐈❤️
Somebody stood up for the first time today.
Deirdre Murphy stood out in every crowd. I got to stand next to her through 25 years of friendship, and stood taller because of it. Loving, stoic, supportive, challenging, intellectual and silly, I will miss every part of her.
